Civil Partnerships in a Church?
Is it true we can hold our Civil Partnership in a church this year?
The Equality Act changed the law regarding same sex marriages in churches.
Churches are not forced to register civil partnerships and hold same sex marriages and go against their beliefs, but it does, however, mark a significant step forward for the gay community as a church can now elect to offer this service to same sex couples. It also permits religious language to be used within civil ceremonies.
